Riva del Garda Sports

summer

The main sports are sailing and windsurfing thanks the wind that blows throughout the day; the main centre is the Fraglia Vela Riva, but to learn these sports there are schools located on the beaches. If you think that the water of Lake Garda is too cold then you can use one of the local open air or covered pools. You can follow the cabled routes on Monte Rocchetta, go mountain biking on Monte Brione or on the cycle routes that link Riva del Garda to Torbole sul Garda and to Arco or go canyoning along the rivers of the Val di Ledro valley or climb on Monte Rocchetta. Between Riva del Garda and Arco there are stables where you can go horse riding. There is the opportunity to take a quad ride, if you want to keep fit there are gyms and don’t worry, you can also play football, basketball, beach volley or tennis with your friends near the beach. Moreover if you’re a keen angler, with an ordinary licence, there are plenty of fish in these waters. The FIPS diving group offers the possibility to dive to see the statue of Christ at the bottom of the Baia Azzurra bay.

winter

Just a 17 km drive away is the Monte Baldo cable car, where you can go skiing whilst enjoying a magnificent view of Lake Garda, but if the slopes of Monte Baldo aren’t enough then you can take the shuttle bus to the slopes of Polsa – S. Valentino. And for true ski enthusiasts, at 115 km from Riva del Garda you can ski on the famous “Tre Tre” slope in Madonna di Campiglio.
